“Play doubles with my wife? With my husband? What, are you crazy?”
Captain Darenda Garrett of the Adult 7.0 team out of Atlanta doesn’t think
so. In fact on her team it’s mandatory. Darenda and her husband Gary are
leading the team here to the State Championships for the 5th year
in a row, so something must be working!
All eight team members live in the same neighborhood, and though Darenda
admits that from time to time there is a bit of grumbling about playing with
a spouse, she still insists on it because it makes line-ups and just about
everything else much easier for her. And she’s happy to report she’s not
had even one doubles team split up! |
