2009 USTA League Tennis
Mixed Doubles State Championships

Congratulations on having a successful league year and earning a berth to the 2009 USTA Georgia Mixed Doubles League Tennis State Championships. The USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles program continues to be one of the fastest growing programs we have to offer. As the numbers of participants have increased, so has the level of competition, making it even more difficult to earn a berth in the State Championships, so you are in an elite group.

The next step on the road to becoming a National Eastern Regional Champion is the USTA Georgia Mixed Doubles League State Championships, which will be held August 14th – 17th in Augusta, GA. All adult matches will be played on hard courts (Newman Tennis Center, Petersburg Racquet Club, Fleming Tennis Center, Diamond Lakes Tennis Center, Rae’s Creek and possibly others) and all senior matches will be played on clay courts (Petersburg Racquet Club and Westlake Country Club).

Penn has graciously donated all of the balls for the event. The Dr. Pepper Snapple group is providing all of the drinks for the volunteers and the player lunch, and T-Mobile has provided phones for the staff and volunteers to communicate.

Please remember that the player lunch is Friday, August 14th between 11:45 am and 2:30 pm. Lunch will be set up at NTC, PRC, and FTC (directions will be in captain’s packet at the tournament). Players who play matches at West Lake CC will eat at PRC and players who play at Riverview Park will eat at NTC.

If you have questions please contact your local league coordinator and if your local league coordinator is unable to answer your questions, contact David Bain at the USTA Georgia office (404-256-9543 x29) or email me bain@ustageorgia.com . The answer to most of your questions may be found in this packet. Please review before calling.

Good luck to your team, and the USTA Georgia staff looks forward to seeing you in Augusta!
